Welcome to Newton’s Annual Spirit Week! For those who are new to the tradition; Spirit Week is an American custom that helps promote school spirit by dressing up for different theme days.
Day 1 Blackout / Whiteout Day
This year Spirit Week kicked off with Blackout/ Whiteout day. The students and teachers rocked their best all black or all white outfit and paired it with some awesome sunglasses.
DAY 2 Backwards Day
The second day was a very fun day where the girls dressed as boys and then the boys dressed as girls. Nothing brings a school together like a little gender reversal! The boys had a blast twirling in beautiful dresses and the girls loved sporting some fancy suits.
DAY 3 Wacky Day
Spirit Week can’t exist without a Wacky Wednesday. Seeing all of the teachers dress in mismatched clothcc国际彩球平台ing and encouraging the kids to do the same was a fun experience. It’s an awesome way to have the children hone in on their creativity by wearing socks outside of pants, having on different shoes, or wearing hair in crazy ways.
DAY 4 Pajama Day
Thursday was a day that was much needed after a busy week. Pajama day allowed all of the teachers and students to sleep in a little bit since no one had to change into school uniforms. Everyone enjoyed wearing eye masks, slippers and cozy pj’s to school.
DAY 5 Rainbow Day
The final day of Spirit Week brought all of the class levels together. Each grade wore a different color. We decided that instead of doing “normal” colors we would challenge the teachers and students by wearing “unique” colors, such as light pink, light purple, mustard yellow and mint green.
The children, teachers and even the parents and grandparents went crazy for Spirit Week! It definitely surpassed last year’s and we hope it will become a permanent tradition here at Newton for many years to come.
